Cherin and Shelley are Registered Child and Family Psychologists who
both hold Postgraduate Diplomas in Child & Family Psychology, a Master
of Education in Child & Family Psychology (with distinction) and a
Bachelor of Arts from the University of Canterbury. They are both
registered with the New Zealand Psychologist Board and are members of the
New Zealand Psychological Society, Institute of Educational and Developmental
Psychology and the Infant Mental Health Association. Cherin and
Shelley have worked with and for government agencies, and provide
specialist reports to the Family Court.
They are both experienced in the assessment and treatment of a range
of psychological problems with infants, children, adolescents, parents and
families.
Cherin Abdelaal Selim (B.A, M.Ed, PgDip
ChFamPsych, MNZPSS Registered Psychologist)
Cherin is a Registered Psychologist who specialises
in the areas of childhood sleep disturbance, behavioural
difficulties, parent-child relationships, autism spectrum disorders and
childhood trauma and abuse. She has specialist training in the assessment
of autism spectrum disorders, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy and several
parenting programmes. She regularly provides
professional development to parents and professionals on a range of topics.
Cherin also provides supervision to those
training to become Registered Psychologists and other Registered
Psychologists.
Shelley Zintl (B.A, M.Ed, PgDip
ChFamPsych, MNZPSS Registered Psychologist)
Shelley has a background in working with individuals with
complex needs, including learning difficulties, physical and intellectual
disabilities, and mental health problems. As a Registered Psychologist,
Shelley specialises in sleep problems, parenting,
family relationships, child abuse and trauma, anxiety and depression. Shelley is trained in Parent-Child
Interaction Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural
Therapy and has trained as a Strengthening Families Facilitator. She
regularly provides professional development and training to parents and
professional groups on a variety of subjects.

Kimberley Hammond (B.Sc.,
M.Ed, DipTchg, PgDip Child & Family Psych, MNZPSS)
Kimblerley
is a Registered Psychologist contracted by Child and Family Psychology
Services. Kimberley has been working with children and their families
for 10 years. Prior to becoming a psychologist, Kimberley worked as a
primary and intermediate teacher. She has conducted research into the
effects of extreme prematurity and has specialist skills in the areas of
child development, and behavioural and emotional
difficulties.
